Happy Easter...!?

I had posted this article 4 years ago on my Multiply but I feel led to post this again as we going to celebrate Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday or lots of people celebrate it as EASTER. I don't have much time to write over about this celebration though there is still so many things I want to write about Easter, Passover and Resurrection.

Anyway, as for me and my family we celebrate it as PASSOVER and RESURRECTION. Easter itself happened because of Constantine [the emperor of the world in 325 AD] changed Passover to Easter for a spiritual reasons. There are 3 important feasts to God every year that have been wiped out from the Gregorian [our] calendar. We live under Gregorian calendar where the 1st day of the year is January 1st but God lives under bible calendar and the 1st day of the year is not January 1st but He starts with a religious day or convocation called PASSOVER. So here are the 3 important feast to God:

1st - PASSOVER it was transformed and changed to Easter by Constantine.

2nd - PENTECOST there is no Pentecost's day in the Gregorian Calender.

3rd - THE ATONEMENT, Constantine took that celebration, changed and moved it to Dec 25 and called it Christmas.

Why did He do that? Constantine in 325 AD killed preachers and the teaching about these 3 feasts, because he saw that there was a tremendous prosperity and blessing on the people of God when they celebrated these feasts. And he could not control them as these Christians were prospering. And He realized that when they understand the season of God that it was out of control for him as emperor. So at that time, if there were any preachers, ministers that wants to minister godliness to the world they were to take an oath of poverty saying that they would never preach prosperity, they would never preach to people that things are going to be great. They have to work for it, go through the government and the emperor.

Well, Passover itself in Hebrew means Pesach - to pass over, to exempt or to spare. It refers to the fact that God "passed over" the houses of the Jews when He was slaying the firstborn in every household of Egypt. "Pesach" is also the name of the sacrificial offering [a lamb] that was made in the temple on this holiday.

It also means protection in Hebrew, is derived from the instructions given by God to Moses. In order to encourage Pharaoh to free the Israelites, God intended to kill the firstborn of both man and beast in Egypt. To protect themselves, the Israelites were told to mark their dwellings with lamb's blood so God could identify and "pass over" their homes.

Easter itself is a pagan festival which is named after a sex goddess. And that's where we get the bunny rabbit because of the reproduction and fertility of the rabbit.

So that's why I didn't use the word easter for this celebration and didn't do the easter bunny and egg thing. I still respect all the people who do this tradition out there but be aware this is not God's holiday neither does He bless it. Learn the blessing of Passover for Jesus is our Passover Lamb.

Though it's difficult to break with easter tradition and easter gifts from family and friends such as easter baskets, easter chocolates, easter eggs, etc we just want to celebrate this festival with the right understanding that Jesus the Perfect lamb of God died on the cross and rose from the dead on the 3rd day. That is the essence of this celebration. I can simply say Happy Resurection Day while other says Happy easter to me. God bless everyone...

HAPPY PASSOVER and RESURRECTION DAY...

But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. (Isaiah 40:31)
